I’ve started reading Greg Rucka’s run on Punisher and it’s a really good touch that Frank doesn’t even say anything for the first few issues since it makes him feel more like an entity who exists only to kill people than an actual human being which is exactly how criminals should perceive him.

Chamber is quickly growing on me as one of my favourites of the more obscure characters from the X-Men universe as he’s like a version of Cyclops but with more edge and a body horror twist that adds to the adolescence aspect of the mutant metaphor.

Considering how my first introduction to Emma Frost was in Wolverine And The X-Men where she had a really stereotypical upper class British accent, it feels weird to imagine Emma using Yiddish words.

After almost a year of exclusively conspiracy stuff from Ultimate Spider-Man, it’s really fun seeing Peter dealing with some street level crime and continuing to build up to the classic Spidey persona even if his jokes aren’t exactly up to scratch yet.

I like that part of Exceptional X-Men is Kitty going out of her way to stop her students from becoming superheroes and avoiding the mistakes that the X-Men made with her that messed up her development.

Exceptional X-Men has been my favourite book from the current era so far but I’m don’t like Kitty and Emma having an antagonistic relationship after the development they had in the Krakoan era.

Even if some of his creative decisions are a bit weird, X-Men: The End undoubtedly benefits from the fact that Claremont just has complete free reign and doesn’t need to worry about maintaining the status quo of a monthly ongoing.

To anyone who loves Kitty Pryde as much as I do, I would highly recommend reading X-Men: The End because even though Kitty is a relatively minor character for most of the trilogy, there’s this beautiful moments that truly feels like it’s the perfect ending for Kitty and is also a great-

As a certified Madelyne Pryor stan, seeing a writer from the Inferno era having Scott acknowledge just how problematic his treatment of Madelyne was is really good to see as I’ve always viewed her as being a victim of a misogynistic editorial agenda.

I love how Chris Claremont just used X-Men: The End to get as close as he possibly could to just outright saying that Kitty and Rachel are a couple.

The full context of it is depressing but I like that the mutant rights group is called “Refusenix” because it references the term for Jews who were refused the right to emigrate from the Soviet Union to escape the persecution they faced under communist rule.

I’ve just read the first issue of the new X-Factor reboot and I like that it’s actually trying to somewhat connect itself to the original team because I think that a lot of people forget that there was an X-Factor before Peter David’s initial run.

I’m not the biggest fan of Jubilee and I tend to find her quite boring but I’ve enjoyed what we’ve seen of her so in the current run of Uncanny X-Men.

….Now I wanna know what STDs smell like to Logan.

It’s a pretty bold take but I think that the idea that Rogue’s accent being so exaggerated because she has some kind of speech impediment is interesting.

As someone who has multiple speech impediments, a superhero with a speech impediment that isn’t just a stutter would be great representation.

It really says a lot about the pop cultural moment that we’re experiencing where this cover is considered badass and not at all humorous.

I love Banshee but his ability to fly just makes no sense at all.

Like, what’s the connection between a sonic scream and flight???

I’m reading Oblivion Song and you can say a lot of things about Robert Kirkman’s more recent work but this series is a really good example of his world building skills.

Even though it’s just a short story, it’s an absolute pleasure seeing JMS coming back to work his magic on Spider-Man.

He does a really good job at showing that he understands the dynamic between Peter and Venom in a context that’s tragic and the bit with Peter and MJ at the end just reminds-

Considering how shit the world is for trans people atm, especially for young trans people, seeing Shela and her transness just being treated as absolutely normal in Avengers Academy brings tears of happiness to my eyes.

I really admire Hickman for being willing to use some of the more controversial aspects of the Alien universe in AvA rather than just making it Avengers vs “Alien’s greatest hits”
November 15, 2024 at 3:10 AM
Tbh, this scenes just makes me wish that we could have had Captain America vs Aliens instead of Aliens vs Avengers.
November 15, 2024 at 3:04 AM
I wasn’t the biggest fan of the most recent issue of Aliens Vs Avengers but I think it’s cool
that xenomorphs aren’t being presented as native to this version of the Marvel Universe because it makes it stand out compared to a lot of crossovers where both properties are just assumed to exist in the-

After the past week, this whole pages feel very relevant but we must remember that like the Ultimates, we are obligated to do our best to fight for a better world than the one that we’ve inherited.
