In June and July, the Reading Group online meetings will shift to Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm - 17 June and 15 July.

Others have noted that Saied Dai's 'individual and yet archetypal' portrait of Theresa May from 2023 seems indebted to Wyndham Lewis's later style. But the GMB were already mining this strange affinity in 2017, with a 'Maybot' protest seemingly inspired by Lewis's cubist Self Portrait of 1911.

The next meeting of the WL reading group is this Saturday, 7th December, 11am. For our last meeting of 2024 we'll be opening the floor to various group members to speak for 10mins on a Lewisian topic of their choice. Happy birthday to our man, Wyndham Lewis, born #OTD in 1882. In 1919 he summarily abandoned the principle of birthdays, informing the Sitwells that he intended simply to continue being thirty-seven until further notice.

For several years we've been running a monthly online Wyndham Lewis reading group, open to anyone interested in his work.
