That’s why I believe that we must prioritise better education on how politics and Parliament operate. This kind of education is going to be absolutely crucial, not just in addressing misinformation, but for restoring trust in the facts that underpin our democratic system.

I get it - the inner workings of politics can be overly complicated and, for some, pretty dull. But that doesn’t excuse the fact that this lack of understanding is a serious issue for democracy. How can we expect people to trust in a system that they don’t fully understand
