A night I remember well, despite only just turning 8. We lived on top of Reigate Hill and the devastation in the woods on the hill was enormous. Meanwhile, less than a mile from there, we didn't lose power at all. I ended up being in the Surrey Mirror as they knocked on our door for an interview!

I don't miss it. It's just a shame that there's still quite a lot of useful content that is only posted there. I do hope Bluesky takes off a bit more in the UK.

The Met Office seem to think it'll be very average and a little changeable, according to a post on here a couple of hours ago. That's a few days where afternoons have been cheaper than overnight. Just switched from IOG for a bit, but it is messing with my EV charging as it's lowest when I'm at work! 😆

Considering the wind and that we sold some energy to France, there really seems to be evidence of profiteering by generators here. This sort of weather would typically take costs a lot lower such as in last winter, when demand would have been comparable.

Settling lightly in RH19 at 16:30. Looking at Google Maps live traffic, it's pretty much slow on all roads west of Worthing, east of Rye and south of Ashdown Forest in a line along Ashington - Hickstead - Cuckfield - Uckfield - Hawkhurst.

It's snowing and sleeting on and off. Nothing settling, just cold and grim. RH19.

Snowing (wet) consistently in RH19 at 15:30. Was sleeting for around 15 minutes beforehand, so not settling (yet).
