The US remains the most popular destination among educated young adults worldwide, but its lead over #2 has narrowed from 20pts to 9pts, while the UK has plummeted from a consistent #2 ranking to #7, again with a steep fall after 2016.

I swear every year it is the same. It annoys me greatly that people have a go at a really ancient bit of fun from here.

If you are from Scotland you get very annoyed when every year people call your major cultural export American.

One year I had a go at an Italian politician over this and instead of apologising he tried to make up that our version is probably different. It isn’t massively. We just do something (or used to) in return for the sweets.
