Of course he gave no sign, he never broke character.

I'd equate it to the torment nexus but we already know tech bros have no idea what the torment nexus actually is.

Although maybe they mean "Not connected" as in, it takes place in the main timeline but follows a crew who never intersects with the Enterprise's bullshit.

But its also a LOT of baggage (Thats only gotten worse as they have churned out show after show) and this is obviously going to be targeted at general audiences who most have not seen Trek at all.
November 14, 2025 at 10:53 PM
I'm conflicted.

On one hand, I'm sure it will be a fun action comedy romp with a Star Trek backdrop.

On the other... part of why I like Star Trek and things like Lower Decks were fun is the overarching history and continuity of the series and I like seeing people be clever with that.

Like some people are just being drama queens because they got taken out of their comfort zone for 0.1 seconds. Its pure theatrics.

Grow up.

When I see people clutching their pearls because a single kink image broke containment and wound up on their feed, or they went to the front page of FA and saw something they don't like, all I think about is how people would commonly react with violent disgust at two dudes kissing.

There is no way they actually know what they were signing up for and it reeks of elder abuse by family members to ring a little bit more money out of them before they pass. As well as by AI companies who spun this to them as a good idea.
November 14, 2025 at 9:56 AM
Because every AI of a actor is a impressionist out of a job, or a new take on a classic character gone to never be heard. Or just straight up a actor out of a job when its used on a new original character.

Also almost every actor who has sold their voice rights to AI have been extremely elderly.

Anyone who has met a 15 year old and thinks they are anything resembling an adult needs to be committed.

I think the reason most artists don't is just because mandatory tagging makes it more work than chucking something up on FA.

People often don't realize that millionaires dont really give two fucks about cost of living.

Millionaires want to signal their status to everyone around them, thats why they all live in the most expensive places in the country.

Yeah I can't afford to go that long, without a phone I can't interact with my bank or paypal.

If google can't do it surely we can.

Netflix is in the middle of a identity crisis I swear to god.
November 13, 2025 at 9:02 PM
Not really because its not by one of the studios they bought, and Aspyr isn't even part of Embracer anymore.

So far nothing has come out of Crystal Dynamics or Eidos Montreal and Square Enix Montreal got shut down. (They were the mobile game division so not too surprising but still a waste.)
November 13, 2025 at 9:00 PM
I know the answer is "Embracer bought them when they cant afford the studios they already have" but it really feels like they bought Eidos just to fire people.
November 13, 2025 at 8:43 PM
Unfortunately they were bought from a sinking ship by a burning ship.

So far it seems all Embracer has done is lay people off, has a single Eidos game come out so far since leaving Squenix?

And one of his actual motivations for wanting to create lifelike animatronics?

He didn't trust actors to do the job right, he wanted to cut actors out of his shows.

He was also very susceptible to people around him filling his head full of bad advice (like the aforementioned red scare stuff)
November 13, 2025 at 6:45 PM
It is a bad idea, but I just wouldn't be hasty in assuming Walt Disney wouldn't have the same bad idea.

Particularly with his parks and animatronics, he chased tech that didn't exist and poured a lot of money into creating it, he wanted to be on the cutting edge.
November 13, 2025 at 6:45 PM
Walt was a hardcore capitalist and the only thing that would bother him about GenAI was that he can't micromanage every facet of it.

He thought his animators were all dirty commies and thats why he spent most of his time on his parks in his later years.

Like I haven't even gotten to the hard part of today ffs, I just got up.
