I once won a buckle riding a calf. I don’t know where the buckle or calf are these days but I’m still around.

Apparently I do not know how to travel solo without going into tour mode. Nine hours of driving today, 2 caves seen.

But the scenery on the drive was — literally — breathtaking. At one point I just screamed at a mountain for about 30 seconds because it was being rude (too beautiful for this world)

i did not, it turns out, hit a home run. I somehow (after swinging at a pitch in the dirt) hit a ball about as hard as I’ve hit it all season (and it went straight to the left fielder)

This was my Halloween costume. George “Pee-wee” Herman Ruth. I’m not sorry and I’m too old to be embarrassed.

You might be asking “Levi are you counting things like Planet Earth or Zoo documentaries that might have shark and shark-adjacent materials?” and the answer is no. There is a whole cottage industry of shark “entertainment” like this, which I’m sure is a masterpiece:

I got curious about who Taylor Holmes was, and it turns out: oh yeah, I know of that guy.

Anyway, this type of curiosity is why I thought the internet was a good idea. I was right but obviously also wrong, for reasons we all know by now.

The audio is a recording from 1915 of a Rudyard Kipling poem about war, and was “…used by the US’s Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) training programme to prepare soldiers for hostile environments.”

A few months ago I bought tickets to see Röyksopp

Then I learned it was a DJ set (ok sure)

And today I learned that it’s a “day party” that started at 3pm, which is how I ended up in da club at 3:30pm on a Sunday.

I’m 45

You really gotta hand it to Elon. He may have bought an election, illegally decimated government infrastructure from the inside like a parasite, grifted the system, blown up a bunch of rockets & fathered an obscene number of illegitimate children, but at least he lost billions to make Twitter better

I’ve been writing something non-work-related every day this year. Today was maybe a *little* work related but I had thoughts on why I love Kendrick Lamar, and how a decision 20+ years ago has made my life better.
