I’ve heard of tactics such as fake parental care clinics in other states to trick people into either an unwanted lecture, or to sign away info/data. I can totally see this as a way someone could be trying to grift the most desperate.

I broke my finger last year, I know yours isn’t, but if it’s starts to feel any stiffness rolling up and flattening slime or a kneaded eraser was the best little technique that increased motion for me. We’ll all miss your sketches till then though! Take plenty of rest!
