So, everything is stocked up in my pantry (thanks @tallgirl6234.bsky.social for the list!), I updated my phone (terminal layaway, but I’d rather not have a brick in 8 payments) and watch, and my spices are stocked up. Feels like prepping for a hurricane. Tariffs start tomorrow.

Why do we have missiles named ATACMS, and why did the NYT decide to use that name in their article instead of MGM-140? ATACMS sounds like something Wile E. Coyote ordered from ACME. Was “Attack ‘Ems” too obvious, or did someone at the Pentagon have a warped sense of humor back in 1986?
