for most intents and purposes, I’m a highly developed child who uses time to help people change their lives and, hopefully, make life better — https://lev.lchttps://principles.page/project — @prickly.oxhe.art
When trust feels like trying to keep a soufflé intact during an earthquake, maybe it also holds the power to shake things up and break the rituals of fear. Drawing from personal experiences and recent insights, I share why embracing trust can enable positive change. principles.page/rituals-of-f...

What if the objects we define — like a simple nail — are just fleeting constructs, shaped by perception and language? How much of our reality is inherent, and how much is simply imagined? Can we truly separate what’s in our minds from what’s outside them? lev.lc/pelevin-nail #fiction #fantasy
nail fragment from Villa dei Misteri by Victor Pelevin
In this fragment from Empire V by Viktor Pelevin, the nail symbolizes the tension between perception and reality, as well as the ephemeral nature of meaning. Through Osiris’s explanation, Pelevin expl...

This weekend, I sat with an Irish-Scottish American and their English partner — two people, four historic narratives, one #language. Their stories of word choices and accents sparking misunderstandings inspired me to map out my own view of English and the nuances of my #writing style lev.lc/english

Experimenting with a more minimalist Obsidian.md setup: I removed the ribbon (a must for my 3:2 screen) and downgraded the Calendar's special spot. I tried replacing the community plugin "Note Refactor" with the core "Note Composer" but discovered they serve different roles...

As Linux turns 33 today, I treat myself to a Raspberry Pi — planning to turn it into a "text box" — a separate machine for writing and working with Obsidian, Jekyll and VSCode — not be the most exciting gift for a little penguin, but hey, here is a new drawing I make — "Linus Duoton"

Just discovered that #bluesky luesky has an RSS feed for every profile, which is great for someone who doesn’t use the app but wants to follow people on different social channels from their feed reader. The problem is that the BlueSky RSS feed doesn’t render clickable links.

I'm sure that Chris Guillebeau is a resourceful author, but it triggers my nonconformist when I see the title "The Art of Non-Conformity" on a personal blog with no RSS feed, only a link to a Substack. How do we convince more people to trust in the #indieweb? What does Guillebeau's writing suggest?

Reading great socio-cultural commentary from the iA newsletter — "No Thanks" 👏 (ia.net/topics/no-th...) touches gently but leads the reader with conviction away from technological futility. It's not clear who wrote it, perhaps @reichenstein.bsky.social will comment.
No Thanks
Last week, Apple got into trouble because of an ad. It taught us a lesson beyond the good and evil of advertising and public relations.

What is #art? I played with this little fella for a few hours last night — inspired to give a second life to a character from a 1969 Soviet animated film based on Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh — my take on a portrait of a serious and intelligent technologist who comes in style.

#drawing new duotons the last week: my impression of the #Fallout TV Show with a commentary on issue 4 of the " #duoton letter", the spontaneous depiction of Seinfeld's Soup Nazi, and an attempt to reverse a classic grizzly seizing fish midair image into an opposite. #Fujifilm drops the "X-100VI," bolstering their loyalty to the market and not the #artists. The "Six" will please a "specs" hipster and content creator buff. "Made in China" — I'm so excited that when all the X-100V owners rush for an upgrade, I'll finally be able to snag the X-100F at a sweet price

nd.gd/neomedievalism-decades-apart While I ponder the concept of the "New Middle Ages," an intriguing connection emerges between James Joyce, Johan Huizinga, and Umberto Eco. Works from different decades share a profound fascination for resurrecting medieval themes, aesthetics, and influences #nudged

The integration of smartphones into every aspect of our lives blurs the line between necessity and intrusion. Collecting data on a massive scale during the pandemic sets a precedent with cascading effects on autonomy and societal norms. Time to design human-centric tech systems. le.vel.si/nomophobia
