I don't think this is it. I think once they reached the 218th vote petition they have one week to put it up to a vote. If anything they'll probably slow walk it to try and see if the momentum dies.

It's maddening. The GOP constantly signals their willingness to not only hurt but also kill anyone who disagrees with them even beyond the casualties of their policies. Dem voters are more than ready for a fight, yet a significant number of Dem electeds refuse to throw punches or even judo the GOP.

You cannot (accurately!) yell "fire, fire, fire!" as you enter a home & then not break down doors & windows to get people out. Otherwise, your cries of alarm are untrue or you're not up to leading.

If the last ten years have taught me anything, it's that the stupidest possible option will probably be what winds up happening.

There was probably a section or clause in the city charter that specified that each borough was responsible for its own maps, any change to the charter has to be voted on this way.

The official maps of the city are currently all paper maps that are separately maintained in each borough hall. It's some crazy number of paper maps if I remember right. The proposal is to modernize and consolidate them all into a single official digital map.

Context matters, to get 100k more voters actually voting than in a presidential election year for just the municipal elections is a lot. Last mayoral election cycle the total was 1.1 million people. It's literally almost double the last turnout.

I think it might even be something that predates film. The first piece of media where a character survives a fall due to a tree or shrub breaking a fall that I am aware of is from a 16th century Italian play. It may not be the first but it was from a major author that was imitated later.

They seem to think you are advocating voting for Newsom or another candidate for whom trans rights are optional, (assuming the Dems / DNC will advance that as the default Dem position), years out from a primary.

I remember hearing, maybe I heard wrong it's been a while, that in their last years they still sold something like 20% of the toys in the US. Private equity killed a business that sold one in every five toys in the country.
