[2] These children, the majority of whom were born in the United States, are suffering severe physical and emotional harm, with many fearful of going to school.

Tearing apart families and traumatizing children does not make our country great. The time for change is now!

[7] As CTAN, we are outraged by this treatment of immigrant families and children. We demand policymakers pass legislation to protect sensitive and family centered locations from ICE enforcement.

[3] We condemn the actions of today. As @wendydcervantes.bsky.social of @clasp.org said in a statement,“We urge policymakers to hold ICE accountable to these harms and ensure places like child care centers, schools, and hospitals remain safe and accessible to all families.”

[2] Before this year, childcare facilities, schools, hospitals & churches, were protected from ICE enforcement under the “sensitive locations” directive. We are devastated by the unnecessary trauma that kids are forced to endure as they see their loved ones abducted by ICE.
