#IceVar will create a high-res time series of ice types & biological patchiness in the summer Arctic pack ice ❄️🔬🌍

Supports relevant initiatives like #ArcticCouncil #SAON, #Copernicus Arctic Hub, EU #ObsSea4Clim & is an integral part of my pending proposals to the Research Council of Finland.

Because Arctic icescapes = habitats 🦠🐋

We still don’t fully understand how sea ice changes affect ecosystems, biodiversity & productivity as the Arctic warms. #ClimateChange

🟢 We’ll track:

🌡️ Ice thickness (ship, EM, drones)

🧬 Biogeochemical properties across ice types & under-ice waters (in situ, FerryBox, drones)
