Playing around with this, I'm really looking forward to having gray hair in my near future.

Also interesting to see I landed on more progressive and left than any party, which I suppose is attributed to agreeing on more support for people with in/visible or perceived disabilities, though the LPC is definitely more socially conservative and economically to the right in practice than speech.

A 6x6 grid chart shows the PPC on the very bottom right square as more socially conservative and economically right, with the CPC two squares left and one up from them. Near the center is the LPC, while the NDP and GPC are both in the very top left placement to show they're more socially progressive and economically left. Another marker referring to my results that says "you" is also in the top left, but a bit further up and left than both the NDP and GPC.

It was also funny to recently see a Liberal Party TV ad with the word "divided" spelled incorrectly as "dvivided", because apparently quality control couldn't be bothered to catch something like that.

After I saw "Mulholland Drive" the first time on VHS, I immediately rewound the tape and watched it again.
There was so much meaning and cryptic beauty to David's work, truly one of the best minds to have the heart to explore the light that flickers from a sincere self and the worlds we all reflect.

In honor of pride month (and in relation to a thread I saw earlier) the belief of a divine spark needing a receptacle/womb persisted for a long time through interesting interpretations of lesbian sex as written in a poem by Étienne de Fougères in the 12thC.
From Sahar Amer's "Crossing Borders":

Throughout these stanzas, therefore, and just as the authors of the Yde and Olive stories do one and two centuries later, Etienne de Fougères attributes to lesbians a phallocentric sexuality. In this text, lesbian sexual acts are understood in terms of heterosexual relations, which the two women are presumably attempting to replicate.

It's way off about tradition and spot on about being strong, into contact sports and especially intimidating (which has actually been like a curse for most of my life), but other than that I am, unfortunately, terrible with kids.

A search is a tool of intimidation. It is designed to remind a population that they are always at the mercy of the police. And this is precisely why constant street searching of poor Black and Latino youth is at the heart of broken windows policing in the United States. Broken windows policing is th eidea that police should use the power of search not to fight crime but to impose order. A judge may throw out any evidence collected, but she cannot go back in time and stop the search from ever happening in the first place. And this is the point of the stop and frisk search. It is not about crime-fighting or collecting evidence or investigating wrong-doing; it is about information. Search is surveillance and intelligene gathering. It is how the state develops knowledge about a population in order to put that information to work for all sorts of projects that often include those populations' criminalization (see red squad). And search is a tool of intimidation, It is designed to remind a population that "they are at the mercy of police discretion".⁴ The hassle and indignity of the stop and frisk search is designed to impose in its subjects what Fassin calls the "habit of humiliation." When Fassin saw French middle class kids searched - a rare event - he noted how vocal and upset it made them. But when police searched poor, usually Muslim kids in the working class banlieues that surround Paris, he saw a different reaction. The police search was part of everyday life. The young men know the drill so they kept their heads down, spoke only when spoken to, and ignored the "abusive or racist comments and aggressive or humiliating treatment"⁵ What they were to take away from that unequal encounter was fear, and that is the point. - from "Police - A Field Guide" by David Correia and Tyler Wall

Using the Force: How Police Impose Order The power to search is among the most wide-ranging of polie powers. The Fourth Amendment to the US Constitution places limits on what, who, where, when and how police can search. Chief among these is the requirement that before engaging in a search police must secure a warrant from a court, based on probably cause of criminal ativity. But the reasonable suspicion, plain view, automobile, and hot pursuit eceptions, among others, etend unaccountable discretion to police regarding searches and thus make the Fourth Amendment all but irrelevant. In practice and in law the police have carte blanche to search your home or your car, your pockets or your backpack, your body cavities or your bank account. Indeed the search is a police power always in array. K-9s at the train station. Body scanners at the airport. Metal detectors at the high school. Drug tests at the workplace. In most cases, searches are conducted based on consent, another exception to the Fourth Amendment limit on unreasonable search and seizure. You can of course refuse to consent to a search, but then you can't drive your ar, go to school, collect a wage, or board a plane. Other exceptions to the limits placed on the power of police to search represent after-the-fact justificatrions of otherwise legal police searches. Police simply assert powers the law denies them and then launch a "coordinated effort... to legitimate their actions by persuading judges, politicians and the public that what they were doing was necessary to curb crime."¹ Didier Fassin's ethnography of urban policing in France demonstrates the ubiquity of the search as "the usual means [police enter] into contact with their public, whether or not a crime has been committed."² As in the US, there are legal limits to the power of French police to search suspects. "In theory, we have to follow strict rules," and officer told Fassin, "but in practice, the Penal Procedure Code lets us do what we want."³ One officer told Fassin police could "do what we want." He wasn't exaggerating: Police quite literally can search whatever and whomever and whenever they want because the limits that law places are not limits per se but rather concern the admissibility of any evidence collected during a search. Police can break down your door, ransack your home, rough up your family, and seize your property. The only limit they might encounter is an after-the-fact consideration of the admissibility of the evidence police seized from you. (Drawing in red of a police K-9)

Something I always come back to regarding social media is the "majority illusion", a type of selection bias that can, for example, make things popular people say appear more relevant than they actually are, or even true.

In a social network, this illusion may cause people to reach wrong conclusions about how common a behavior is, leading them to accept as a norm a behavior that is globally rare. This may explain how global outbreaks can be triggered by very few initial adopters, and why people overestimate how much their friends engage in risky behaviors, such as alcohol and drug use. We quantified this paradox, which we call the “majority illusion”, and studied its dependence on network structure and attribute configuration. As in the friendship paradox [13, 14, 19, 23], “majority illusion” can ultimately be traced to the power of high degree nodes to skew the observations of many others. This is because such nodes are overrepresented in the local neighborhoods of other nodes. This, by itself is not surprising, given than high degree nodes are expected to have more influence and are often targeted by influence maximization algorithms [21]. However, the ability of high degree nodes to bias the perceptions of others depends on other aspects of network structure. Specifically, we showed that the paradox is much stronger in disassortative networks, where high degree nodes tend to link to low degree nodes. In other words, given the same degree distribution, the high degree nodes in a disassortative network will have greater power to skew the observations of others than those in an assortative network. This suggests that some network structures are more susceptible than others to influence manipulation and the spread of external shocks [32]. Furthermore, small changes in network topology, assortativity and degree–attribute correlation may further exacerbate the paradox even when there are no actual changes in the distribution of the attribute. This may explain the apparently sudden shifts in public attitudes witnessed during the Arab Spring and on the question of gay marriage. The “majority illusion” is an example of class size bias effect. When sampling data to estimate average class or event size, more popular classes and events will be overrepresented in the sample, biasing estimates of their average size [15]. Thus, the average class size that students experience at college is larger than the college’s average class size. Similarly, people experience highways, restaurants, and events to be more crowded than they normally are. In networks, sampling bias affects estimates of network structure, including its degree distribution [1, 18]. Our work suggests that network bias also affects an individual’s local perceptions and the collective social phenomena that emerge.

I mean, if you just look at how the language of anti-trans groups works to denounce agency by altering the grammar of what they hear so that it sounds like an imposition and an affront to rationality, it's pretty clear (to me, anyway) they're in favor of gender, just an either/or kind.
Gender Grammar Problem - Correction - Reason "transgendered" (adjective) - transgender - Only adjectives that are derived from nouns and/or verbs (unlike transgender) end in "ed". "intersexed" - intersex - Only adjectives that are derived from nouns and/or verbs (unlike transgender) end in "ed". "trangendered" (verb) - transition - Only verbs can have "ed" added onto the end of the word to become a participle. Transgender is an adjective, not a verb. One does not "transgender", they transition. "a transgender", "transgenders" - a transgender person, transgender people - Transgender is not a noun. "Jake is a transgender" is not only gramatically incorrect, but cen be offensive. "sex change", "sex reassignment surgery", "gender reassignemnt surgery" - gender affirming surgery, genital reconstruction surgery, genital reassignment surgery - Surgery does not change one's sex or gender, only genitalia. Lots of bullshit claims, asserting "biological" as if it's somehow more real than after transition, as well as the "not reversible" nonsense about blockers and HRT, which is somehow a grave concern the day before you're 18 but not after.
And it seems she's willing to use the notwithstanding clause.

"It's unacceptable" is actually "It's, uh, not acceptable".
I really abhor paring of accuracy, even if editors think it's the same difference.
