my bike was stolen recently, as part of a spate in that area. it turned out a few streets from me was a man who had so many bikes piled up in his garden it was visible on google earth. the police hadn't thought this was notable i guess

Sometimes, but it's also because we have to get text localised a long time before balancing is done, so being vague is much easier than potentially needing to re-translate a string because we rebalanced the upgrade.

...that would go from "challenging" to "trivial" and "impossible" to "straightforward" over time, which feels like potentially quite a steep power curve. Although perhaps that's the point: it's not inappropriate for some parts of the genre.

I really liked the look of it too. I think the "target numbers" thing might be a bit challenging - I suspect the DM was tweaking them a little for effect as the game went on. There's enough variance that I worry you'd end up with a lot of challenges in the 4-6 and 10-20ish range...

i went to see her the one weeken i was in new york, back in 2019. hit on a pretty woman in the bar before the gig and only later realised it was her. then got so drunk with the opening act that i got lost in williamsburg. its the anecdote i use to pretend i had a wild youth

i will be honest i never entirely liked AM, just too far away from what I originally liked about them. felt wierd to see them get really popular then.
