The dinner plate dahlia bulbs I planted in the spring are now in full bloom. (Shown here with sunflowers) The blooms aren't as large as I expected, but the plant itself is huge. It's the size of a small bush.

Confession: I once had a bite of a not so tasty dog treat at my sister's house, because it sat on a jar at my sister's house and I mistook it for a cookie!

I try to grow one new plant flower in our garden every year. This year it's dinner plate dahlia's. We've had some unusually cold, wet weather this week. Hopefully they're strong enough to pull through!
