It's wild, a strong message that people widely agree with because they experience it firsthand and a ground game using today's technology to old-school get people talking to their friends and neighbors about issues works.

B) Mamdani, along with Mark Levine, Shahanah Hanif, Chris Marte, Sean Ryan and other winning campaigns (plus Brad Lander) used relational organizing and community canvassing to win. Very different policy-wise, but all had ground games that Democrats should be replicating in EVERY SINGLE RACE.

It was basically "the rent's too damn high!" And millennials and Gen X who just want to be able to afford to live in the city they love were like, thank you.

A) Mamdani did an excellent job talking about specific things that make life unaffordable and the need to address them - housing, transportation and food. He didn't talk about the economy, or your pocketbook, he talked about the specific things that eat up a huge chunk of people's money.

Now we have a Democrat talking to white working and middle class voters and every inane think piece proclaims Democrats have to disavow the victory because it was the WRONG white working class and middle class voters, and the coalition included Black and brown people, so there must be an issue. FFS.

3) Everyone seems to be missing the point about the outcome of the New York elections and the hand wringing is unreal. When Trump won, every inane think piece was about how Democrats had to learn their lesson from their defeat and talk to white working class voters.

2) We should be talking nonstop about political assassinations in Minnesota and the environment created by MAGA fascists that makes people believe they can and should gun down Democrats

But the moment we allow our government to punish someone for the ideas they hold and have shared without breaking the law, our constitution is no longer. We cannot parse this.

We can debate those opinions, we can protest those opinions, we can even as citizens, private institutions and companies have consequences for espousing those opinions.
