You’ll always lose a few, but it’s not comparable, and the JUCO rule extends only for the 2025-26 academic year as of right now. NIL doesn’t play the same kind of role generally for these sports, but the 11.7 and 12 full scholarships have. Has JMU signed onto the new scholarship rule?

I agree. I would include baseball and softball, too. I guess my frustration lies in the fact that I see a lot of people conflating football and basketball with other sports. They are nothing alike at this point.

Maybe start increasing the support for athletes who are at JMU because they want to be there. There are many sports that don’t have this type of turnover and aren’t looking at the school as a stepping stone.

My dad was an organ donor when he passed away when I was 19. What a beautiful way to support donor families during such a traumatic time.
