Wife, mother, grandma to 3 lovely girls. Horrified by the consequences of austerity, Brexit and the previous Tory government. Wanting a better country for my grandchildren.
Lovely walk across the lake in Kew Gardens. Pity about the empty plinth, where there once was a statue. It went away recently to be with a man who can’t have too many statues.

Brexit brings economic decline and no government policy towards rejoining.

Why do stories which really affect people’s lives positively not get the publicity they deserve?

Sorry! What!

John Crace had to listen to this drivel so that we didn’t.

Just asking questions

Yes I think they should. Why should I need to wade through the blue ticks of bile to read a government tweet.

The cost of privatisation is high. £250 per household per year to shareholders of key services since 2010.
We haven’t seen an amazing increase in the quality of services, indeed in the case of water companies there has been a decrease.

This is seriously not normal. If the leader of any other democratic country (and a few authoritarian ones) on Earth spoke like this, in public, via a microphone to a crowd, then the government of that country would be working out quickly how to replace him.

Music Hall song from the UK.
Where did you get that hat?

It’s not fact it’s feelings. Attack the outside, the other. Scapegoat a group and say you can fix it. Part of a pattern. Soon we’ll be on to the lawyers.

Populist Authoritarians start with the outsider, the immigrants and the minorities. Minorities for an authoritarian frequently includes women.

I seriously doubt there is much left of the “shared values that underpin US UK relations”, as Trump has been steadily removing them for months. One value being women’s right to choose and not be intimidated while making that choice.

BBC apologies for someone stating the obvious.

The country is in a mess. Crime is everywhere. London is a large no go area. No quarter to be given to the lawless.
Except for violent demonstrations outside an Essex hotel , where people merely have concerns.

Just remember his claims about Brexit. His desire to cosy up to Trump. His admiration of Putin.

Christchurch Greyfriars garden City of London. One of many gardens and spaces for the public to stop and sit in London.

London has so many little gardens and spaces of calm. St Lawrence Jewry is the church behind the pond.
