The Wikipedia for papabile (candidates for the next pope) has betting odds for who will become the next pope on it. All I can say is JFC.

As with any race, contest or election that can be predicted, including papal elections, there will be a betting market.
In fact, it is reported that speculating on who will become the next Pope is a centuries-old practice, betting records on the outcome of papal elections going back more than 500 years. [44]
In 2025, following news of Pope Francis's passing, several sites were actively offering betting odds on potential candidates to be the next Pope. An example of the odds on 4/21/2025. This is only a snapshot, as it is a dynamic race. [45]

Just finished reading. Written in ‘06, some points are quaint in their 2024 irrelevance, but others are extremely poignant. There are also called shots in here (like virtual assets) that I didn’t at all foresee back then. Moderate recommendation for folks interested in morality and game studies.
