Mom, wife, Norwegian, teacher, chemical engineer, crafty.
If I had to chose between no reading or no food for a day, I would spend the day reading a book about the benefits of fasting.

March was another good reading month for me although I didn’t post much. I took some time away from the neverending cycle of bad news online. At the moment, my focus is library books, because I have about 17 ebooks, audiobooks and paper books that I have borrowed for easter. 📚💙

Many important points about stress reduction in this book. I found it interesting that the author is from Bhopal and has gone on to work in this field after experiencing the 1984 chemical disaster. 📚💙

I rarely reread books anymore. As a child I read everything in the house over and over, but now I can download new books whenever I want or drive myself to the library, so I usually go for something fresh. I haven’t read 1984 in 15 years, so reread due to the relevance to current world events. 📚💙

Winter break started off great for me with a handful of library books at our cabin in the woods. The weather was pretty awful with lots of rain, sleet, wind, and even thunder, so for once I actually finished them all as I planned. 📚💙

I read many highly enjoyable books this month, but this one was one of the last ones and it felt extremely relevant yesterday.

I finished another great book by Pete Buttigieg yesterday, that made last night’s spectacle at the white house even more jarring… 📚💙

I switched sites for my booklists twice last year after using Bokelskere for years, first because I had to add too many books manually, then I moved on from Goodreads to avoid Amazon. StoryGraph is looking good so far! Fun graphic for February. 📚💙

A little bit of magic and a complex mystery, but I found the ending quite satisfactory. 📚💙

Finally got around to this one, hit the spot when I had a sudden craving for a good crime novel. Winter break is coming up in a few days where I live, so I’ve been reorganizing my TBR and wishlists. I stopped using Kindle last year, and now I’m working on alternatives to Audible too. 📚💙

I read this book in the wrong way, start to finish, instead of jumping to the chapters most relevant for me at any given time. Some of it can be a little too basic, but the parts that ressonated the most at this point in my life were a little painful to read in a good way. 📚💙

Great book about the women in the Vietnam war. I didn’t know much about it as I’m too young to remember and not from any of the countries that participated. The lessons are unfortunately still relevant today. 📚💙

Proper feel-good story from Sweden, set in Funäsdalen (and a small trip to nearby Røros). Inspired me to take a chilly shower, but I don’t think I will be going swimming any time soon. Last year I had the first outdoor bath on May 17th. 📚💙

I enjoy reading self-help books a lot, but this one didn’t resonate with me today. 📚💙

Interesting biography from an inspirational woman. Gilmore Girls was a staple in my teens. 📚💙

I have studied a little biochemistry before in university, but this book was much more accessible then I expected with many actionable tips for everyone. New favorite! 📚💙

I’m fiercly protective of my brain, eyes and ears because I need them to read all my books… It’s never to early to start adjusting your lifestyle to do what you can to keep your brain healthy. Now I’m off for a long walk outside. 📚💙

Not very feel-good, but the tips for things to do when it’s raining might come in handy for winter break in ten days. I hope we get good weather though as Trondheim is hosting the World Ski Championship. 📚💙

Another very important and painful book. After reading Chanel Miller’s story I think I need something feel-good, but my bookpile has tons of non-fiction and dystopies… 📚💙

This book took a month to read because it’s so heavy with important information, and also fairly painful to read. 📚💙

Quick and dramatic. 📚💙

Beautiful story about friends and family. Very cozy and enjoyable. 📚💙

Dr. Torkil Færø is a genius, and his new book about rest and health was full of important information. Good rest is my focus this year, and I love the tips in this book because they give me a head-start. Read Hvilekuren if you can know Norwegian, or find him on an English podcast. 📚💙

Some scandinavian crime is never wrong. I went to Stockholm for the first time last summer to see The Offspring at Gröna Lund, and I loves both the consert and the city. That makes reading books set in Stockholm even more enjoyable to me now. 📚💙

Another cozy knitting series. 📚💙
