Day 24: transition

We talk about "transitioning" to refer to a trans individual presenting as their chosen gender. But coming out as anything can be a difficult transition, after living a different life for years.

Day 23: Achilles

Day 20: scars

The queer experience goes hand in hand with the collection of scars, both emotional and physical. We can choose to see them as a symbol of the pain we've been through or a reminder of the freedom that we've earned as a result of the battles fought, but they'll always be with us.

Day 19: bowtie

Much like carabiners, bowties are more than a fashion accessory. Lesbians and gay men alike have worn them throughout history as a way to protest against the expectations of gender expression, so it's become a symbol of pride and resistance to the community.

Day 18: glitter

From performances, to protests, to drag, glitter has become almost synonymous with the community. Let it be a reminder that no matter how small we feel, together, we can sparkle and make anything beautiful <3

Day 17: binder

A binder is an article of clothing usually worn underneath other clothes to conceal or reduce the size of the wearer's breasts. Earlier versions of it throughout history were made out of gauze or tape, which often caused bruising and breathing issues
