If she donated 700,000 dollars to St Jude's Childrens hospital, do you think St. Jude cares *why* she did it? "Oh, wait, this money WON'T help chronically-ill kids because she just wants good press."? Is that how it works?

The hospital doesn't have to vote for her to be thankful for the money.

For the seventeenth time, I don't support *her*. I support her action/decision.

What's complex about that?
November 19, 2025 at 2:25 AM
Tell me how I'm *rewarding* the behavior? What has she gained from my saying "this is the type of decision we, the people, will support"? What valuable thing did I give Marjorie?

I *don't care why she's taking the stance.* It's irrelevant. If the next action she takes sucks, there's zero support.

Yeah, the party leadership really got lost in the politics game.

... Ghost-leech me? Ahh what the heck. Wait... Do I just turn into a regular vampire, or a *ghost* vampire? 🤔

So if a Nazi general defected and gave us the position of enemy artillery, you think celebrating that would be preposterous?

I think you're stuck on the whole "you don't have to adore this person to enjoy that they made a good and useful decision."
November 19, 2025 at 1:30 AM
Nor does the fact that you like that a grenade went off in his pocket mean that you like it. You can still cheer for the occurrence of its happening.
November 19, 2025 at 1:27 AM
It drives me NUTS! Just having a cut on my hand while working on a car is miserable. Then, if you have to climb or grab anything, you have to deal with slippery blood. It's insane to willfully wreck your entire palm! 😂
November 19, 2025 at 1:25 AM
People act like you have to become her personal best friend, give her a billion dollars, and promise her your first-born child just to say "yay for the good choice you made." 🙄
November 18, 2025 at 9:20 PM
Oh, I thought the joke was that I was your naive first victim. 😆
November 18, 2025 at 9:18 PM
If I join the Red Cross, then run around stabbing people to death, that doesn't mean "The Red Cross" now sucks and just stabs people. It means they need to get rid of me and hire people who do what the organization represents. Just 'cause someone is in power doesn't mean they own the party.

Lots of the dems ARE super phony on a lot of stuff. It's almost as if any individual from any background, party affiliation, group, etc. *could* just be a terrible human, because free will.

That's why we're seeing a huge uptick in support for much younger, new dem candidates. -->
November 18, 2025 at 9:07 PM
All you can do is evaluate one friggin' day at a time. Today? She did a measurably good thing. So yay for that.

I cheered for her. I've finished cheering. I didn't sign a cheer contract.
November 18, 2025 at 9:05 PM
She could personally try to come into my house and murder me tomorrow. I have no idea.

Look at all the people everyone adores and has decided are definitively amazing, wonderful people, then they turn out to run a sex-trafficking ring or they're a serial killer. So it goes both ways. -->
November 18, 2025 at 9:05 PM
There's no rule in the entirety of the universe/reality that says I can't dislike 99.99999% of her existence, and cheer for this .00001% of it. Why does that somehow REQUIRE that I have a stance on her as an entity, now? Like an ongoing, permanent one?

Reality check: it doesn't. -->
November 18, 2025 at 9:05 PM
How about doing a little less assumption, eh? I can't be much clearer than I have been: I'm supporting *her one action she has taken at the moment*. Who the hell said anything about making decisions about her entire reputation?

What the crap is with humans and binary dichotomy? -->
November 18, 2025 at 9:05 PM
As I said, if we should be seeing something else *also*, then so be it. We can pitch for that, too. You just don't wanna accidentally go so far that you're resisting the whole "get Trump" part just because some folks are missing something important. You want to aggregate, not either/or it.
November 18, 2025 at 9:00 PM
Understandable. Trump's kind of the pressing matter at the moment. Like, if there's a tornado outside, but also some people have done some wrong, the thing people are gonna focus on is getting into a storm shelter.

That being said, all valid points. -->
November 18, 2025 at 9:00 PM
Never heard of it! Gonna look it up now! ^_^
November 18, 2025 at 8:53 PM
... Why not? What do you lose by saying "Yes, this thing: good!"?

What principle of the thing is that? "Hey, you suck, but this one thing wasn't sucky." Where's the problem inherent to that? OH NO! WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF WE PRAISE COMPETENCY?! It's only EXPECTED competency!

... And?
November 18, 2025 at 8:51 PM
Haha. If that's what they love, I get it. But the simple fact that most people have *barely* tried anything else out to even see if they like it before deciding "this is what I like!" is a bit silly.

They're the only ones missing out.
November 18, 2025 at 8:48 PM
YES! Holy crap, I played the shite out of that!
November 18, 2025 at 8:44 PM
Why would they ever go above and beyond when they can get the exact same level of praise (none) for half-assing everything and just trying to barely not get fired?
