personally i consider Chelnov as one of the deco's best games from that time. plus Wolf Fang and Boogie Wings are pretty much the continuation of it's "autoscrolling run'n'gun" ideas but with their own spins and more shmup elements on top. deco was particularly good at these

i could be wrong, i wish to be wrong, i hope that its not as bad as articles/vids make it sound. but the reality is that we not gonna get anything definitive without getting hands on the game. and i will get it, i wanna see that myself, i bought switch in 2017 partially because of Prime 4.

what i got from the trailer is that they decided to expand on that one mission's concept. plot-wise: seems to make sense. gameplay-wise: looks like a disaster on paper. theres about 5 chars in the trailer that was shown and for now it looks like they gonna occur throughout the game.

ok i wanna elaborate my thoughts on the matter. Prime 3 had plenty of Feds, thats true, but sections with them were pretty contained and didnt hurt the main game + ending trilogy's plot was a reasonable excuse. and the mission with escorting demolition troopers was a 10min gameplay shakeup at worst.

the deco logo with speech i remember is the one from Metal Max Returns (in vid the one that says "data east corporation"). cool rpg, sunk ~40 hours into it, like 70% complete, but never finished it. gotta do that someday

also yeah, Turrican is pretty cool, i played through the second game this year. they're all about finding secrets on stages, though first two games have more open levels and the latter games more linear. deaths a really forgiving + u can find a lot of 1ups. and the OSTs are top tier

Chelnov never felt like that for me personally, but maybe "comic book superhero" inspired visuals of arcade version does something for that
