@plessinger.com I discussed it with the engineering team that built Policy Sets and they think there's a new delay in 2402 to merge any changes into the policy blob on the DDC. Expect an update to the docs. You were right--timing-wise, the expected delay should be 0 to 5 minutes now.

There were a lot of changes in this area between 2203 and 2402 with the addition of Policy Sets. There are now multiple Studio policy blobs in a site, not just one. Perhaps something here changed the timing. I'll see what I can find, but it may take a while due to the holidays.

After a policy change, the update isn't pushed immediately. It instead waits for the next VDA registration, session launch, or some maximum time to push the updated policy blob to the VDA.

Understood. The way Studio policies work, there's a single binary BLOB of policies in the SQL database. The same policy blob is cached on every VDA's local disk (identity disk in the case of non-persistent MCS/PVS) by the Broker Agent service.

A link to the forum posts, I mean.

You're right about the expected behavior. All user policies should be reevaluated at logon, and _most_ get reevaluated on reconnect.

Do you have a link?

Is there any particular version or policy where it seems to have regressed? Do you know if the same issue exists with local/AD GPO instead of Studio policies?

So you’re saying you wouldn’t recommend this page to a friend?

Possibly. Although it may be more of an illusion within the government itself to avoid congressional approvals.

I’ve been happy with the TP-Link fanless PoE switches at home. Silent so you don’t have to keep them in the attic or closet, but PoE eliminates a lot of extra power cables.

Your freeze period is longer than an OS patching cycle?

If your budget can handle it, just buy enough to make it between patch Tuesdays. Works even better.

You can be an electrician though.

My favorite automation is to create a single "OFF" task... It's awesome to be able to press a single button on the phone at the end of the day, and turn off all the things the wife and kids left on all over the house throughout the day. 😀

Personally, I've gone with Hue lights for indoors (mostly white, but color is nice for adjusting the color temperature) and Z-Wave plugs for outdoors.

I'm not big on the automation side, but it's great for putting switches and lights where the house wasn't wired the way I want it.

I had good success with this open source app when measuring furniture for the new house. Should be pretty easy to measure out the dimensions and visualize it. www.sweethome3d.com

I don’t know… lately TLS certs have started giving DNS some serious competition.

I decided to take a chance on the pumpkin cheesecake at Costco on Monday. It may be the one exception. It’s already half gone before Thanksgiving. 😀

I’ve been out on leave for a month and a half and busy with kids so 🤷‍♂️

Thanks Christian! I saw you recently moved to Cloudflare. How's the new job?

It's very common in Europe, and kinda nice actually. Here at FLL, there's always a traffic jam trying to get past the Spirit terminal to get out. Common enough that wikipedia has a whole page on it... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Low-cos...

This is also why I set up a custom domain, just as I do with email. .bsky.social is like signing up for an gmail.com address. If another provider comes along, you have to change your handle. With a custom domain, you have the ability to update DNS and seamlessly move. bsky.social/about/blog/4...

My focus is primarily the management components of the product, starting with IMA, then FMA, and then the buildout of the cloud Citrix DaaS service with many millions of active users.
