I would test it first with one disk and see if it sees the disk after FreeBSD install.
I had the issue that is didn't see my disk(s) and had to do something to make it work (Have to look it up again on the FreeBSD forum). But every other install after that didn't had the issue and all works fine now

I never use the word laptop but notebook instead and when I talk about windows I mean my own windows. You know, the ones you look through (BSD user here).
