Professor of Physics at University of Florence (Italy) and LENS. Likes quantum physics and playing the quantum lego with ultracold atoms trapped with lasers (also likes walking, cycling, good wine, good music)

Here's a bunch of single strontium atoms trapped in tweezers! Every shot in the video shows the fluorescence of atoms with 40% single-atom occupancy, a key step toward defect-free arrays for #Quantum simulations!

Hi Bluesky! I'd like to begin my journey in this platform by advertising this school I am currently co-organizing:

The Winter School on Ultracold Quantum Many-body Systems ❄️⚛️ (16-22 Feb 2025) is open for registration! The school will take place at the Centro de Ciencias de Benasque Pedro Pascual🏔️.

New in the Bluesky. These are my research interests in quantum and AMO physics, that Google knows much better than I do (thanks Scholar Googler scholargoggler.com).
