You would think this should be self evident - so why are the media not doing this? The pattern of the past few years with Brexit, Johnson, Farage, Trump, Musk et al continues. Do they really want to end up with military on the streets fighting their fellow citizens?

I’m really concerned that there’s no hope now that the UK can avoid going down the same path as Trump and the U.S. The lack of vision and values in the political class is breathtaking, and Starmer simply is not a leader.

As part of the EU, the UK was a serious player, with real influence. As is now brutally clear, its relationship with the US is entirely subservient. Why then do politicians persist with this fantasy that the future is in a transatlantic trade deal?

Saw Mallory McMorrow being interviewed just now. Really impressive and gave me some hope that in time the US might be saved from the hate that is now overwhelming

forces that want to consolidate power and wealth in the hands of the few. They will let nothing stand in their way and are in this for the long haul. They (Trump, Bannon, Putin, Musk, Farage et al) want to destroy democracy and will do it on the back of engendering hate and fear.

With Brexit we thought surely when people see it’s a disaster, they’ll change. With Trump that he could never be elected again after seeing what his first term was like, and the attempted insurrection he supported. We have to face up to fact that there is a long term game going on driven by extreme
