Trump calls this "the revolution of common sense." Others might call it a coup and the dismantling of democracy. IT forms the backbone of any modern organization and typically relies on strong professional environments to function effectively.

It's now Musk's and Trump's priority for IT directors to be on the front lines in implementing government policy. In practice, this means that IT directors in federal agencies who do not unconditionally follow Musk’s and Trump’s policies to the letter will be fired and replaced with loyalists.

Yesterday, a letter was sent from Trump’s newly appointed director of the Office of Personnel Management, Charles Ezell, to all departments and federal agencies stating that the role of CIO is no longer an impartial and apolitical position.
