Yep, I was thinking of the Human Genome Project/Celera moment back in 2000; massive buzz, then costs crashed and basics became cheap. AI seems to be on that curve too: high-end stays pricey, routine goes cheap/local.

AI would advance even if OpenAI disappeared. AI really actually does powerful things that will transform a lot of how we live and work even if AI did not advance further. The way to influence the future is not to pretend that AI is going to go away, but push for it to be used well & mitigate harms.

Very hard to disagree; the tech’s here and useful today. Strong data protections, real accountability, and investment in AI literacy give people agency.

The power to shape its future comes from engagement, not denial.
