Not that I know of...Fostossa is usually a degenerative condition that can only be halted by a cure such as in Captain Kira's case, but since this is a new strain I wonder if there might be other side effects that haven't presented themselves yet.

Yes...still its amazing how intricate it is...if it is designed it must have taken years to perfect...I would recommend regular check-ups for your captain to monitor for any other side effects that might show up in the future, with something like this...you can never know...

I see...its almost like someone designed it to so that even if it could be cured it would cause a maximum amount of damage to her body and nervous system before being cured...

Hmm...Yes, its definitely been modified...with several different proteins added to the strain, and not just the one that is based on the Captain's DNA, this one here is similar to a Cardassian disease that causes paralysis and this one causes degenerative eyesight problems...
