Sad day. We had to say goodbye to this ray of sunshine today, unexpectedly. She was seventeen years young. I'm still having a bit of trouble processing it.

I hope this picture makes you smile. She was such a light to us. I'll miss her terribly.

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. - Isaiah 53:6 📕

Today on the feast day of St Chrysostom let us remember that when two or three are gathered in Christ's name, He will be there.

And gee, there's an awful lot of you gathered and reading this, so that's at least a couple. Thank you, Jesus, for being present in our midst. 📕

Thank you, Lord, for raising up wise leaders like John Chrysostom into your service. 📕

Dear Lord, as with the thorn in St Paul's side, only you know which infirmities should be healed or used to show your perfection in our weakness. Bless us and protect us, as meets your will, so that we can show forth your praise. 📕

Seriously, read the whole thing, but these words of Dr Hayhoe tell the most important truths about Christian action towards climate change. 🙏 🕯️ 🌎

May we all be conscious of Paul's conversion and living example as we share the Word today and every day. 📕

Don't get it wrong.

This sounds correct. I do aim to get up to more of these in 2025.

Oh, I forgot. Added a new family member in 2024 too. That was good.

For class, I need to visit three different worship services that go outside my comfort zone.

In preparing myself, I check the "What to Expect" sections of their websites.

Self-serve communion is definitely outside my comfort zone, team. 📕

Today is the feast day of John Wycliffe. As a current student of Wycliffe College, I'm glad I didn't miss this.

Thank you, John, for your efforts in translating the Bible into English, and for your perseverance in the faith. 📕

Everyone should have a copy of the Revised English Bible (REB). It's a beautiful translation (Anglican NLT, basically.)

Its choices drive thought, like in 1 Tim 3:11, which is often translated as "wives." I dug into the Greek to figure out if this is originally ambiguous: Seems yes! ⚓

Margins are a little thin.

Like I said, this came off Amazon: www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0521...

I did not pay that much.

Note if you ARE hunting: there are inaccurate listings of $50 for a leather copy that is actually just the cloth hardcover.

The key is the Cambridge product code: REBA143

The REB is my daily driver. Anyone sleeping on this translation needs to get a copy and enhance their reading life. A wonderful part of our tradition. ⚓
