Personally I associate white poppies with quakerism/pacifism. An honourable position imo. Are you counting all pacifists as pro-Hitler by late 30s? This works but only with benefit of hindsight perhaps.

The crime here is AN egg. I view people who eat a single egg as the worst sort of person. Joyless, immoral.

I have friends who view food as fuel, a recurring task to be completed efficiently. I'm a picky-tea afficianado / nice bits grazer by preference. This could be either of these, without being an eating disorder.

Only family call me Becky. I am one of those people who amassed nicknames for bizarre reasons (Weedlewon age 11, shortened to Weed, died age 18; Len aged 15, lengthened to Lenny or Lennard, still extant / my proper name for lots of people (including me.)) Otherwise Rebecca from late 20s.

I have been looked askance at by my mother, and by my beloved for buying garlic paste. It's ready chopped onions next. Kill me now. (Can you look at yourself askance without pulling a ligament?)

got an unsatisfied want for these. www.riedel.com/en-gb/shop/v.... Introducing you to the word 'thoil' - a useful Yorkshire concept taught to me by my grandfather when he declined a coffee after lunch out.

I have diverted part way through article to vehemently defend the concept of 'cordial', specifically Mr Fitzpaticks, proudly Lancastrian progeny of a temperance bar in Rawtenstall. Very delicious (shop.mrfitzpatricks.com). TPB deserves the kicking tho. I'll have a glass of blood tonic to calm down.

That's lovely. Reminds me of when I used to drive over the M62 down the longdrop to Milnrow and the sun would break onto Liverpool/Birkenhead in the distance.

The soaring strings give a rash, and I am envious of Bartlett's version of MS. Surprisingly, don't think I'll rewatch.

Pesky Kumaris. The politics round that. and the bone deep smugness stopped me watching for ages, while my then partner persisted.

I'd love to know how someone in a power chair can drive their wheelchair into a three-wheeler it's magic!

My 18 year old self agrees, as she sits in her room in halls listening to Doolittle, and staggering out of indie nights in Liverpool clubs after cider fueled arse shaking (HT to Mac's, and Mardis on Bold St)

Yes, Only been away 1 night. This was by far the most inaccessible, but other toilets get an dishonourable mention for insufficient rails and useless features (pedal bin for paper towels unable to be prized open by hand.) Thankfully didn't hit the deck as fall alarms generally had short cords.

My mum loves audio books. Unabridged only though which decimates the pool. Just bought her Emma read by Juliet Stephenson. It's a hit!My stepdad's hankies are now being ironed for the third time. Expect he'll find exemplary ironed underwear also.

You've reminded me that we sang Joseph at junior school, and I loved the bit where it lists huge amount of colours. And BLUE!
Look forward to reading this (I have a teetering stack of fun/informativedepressing e-mails to read when I can extract my head from my navel).

went to a work do in Liverpool in late 90s where DJ decided to do personal karaoke rather than play requested cheesy tunes for the delight of assembled FE literacy/numeracy tutors. Near riot ensued, as chants of 'Gloria Gaynor! Macarena!' drowned him out. Good times.
