My parents went to GEM in Hingham all the time. I believe it was the first store (that I knew of) that you needed a membership card to get inside ( 🎤Signs - 5 man electrical band). I worked, as a manager, for the Shoe department in Bradlees.

She advised me it was simple syrup & “secret powder”. Whatever that means.

I’m not sure. Powdered stuff, ice and OJ. I think mine were free. We were 16, she was cute. Married over 45 years now.

It’s now the Hanover Crossing. Outdoor outlets. My wife worked at Orange Julius in The early 70’s. Zayre, Child World & Spencer’s were hangouts.
