This is 100% true, it’s a pretty big commitment, and projects that don’t go through tend to be a problem of ambition not effort.
I would say though, if there is a lazy programmer, I’m vying for the title 😭

i honestly wonder if it's just due to ignorance and not knowing how the sausage is made.
if there is a lazy game developer, i've never met them. games take a TON of effort to put out (as do most things) so calling someone lazy despite this will always make me scratch my head
