Standing up to racism requires extended racial literacy to be able to see how these reactions 1. Neutralise the construct of race and racism as external to self and someone else’s problem and centre whiteness so much so that your standing against is about you and your comfort / discomfort!

Yes👏🏼👏🏼… guess it’s hard to see patterns that are harmful and not new especially if they maintain your power and privilege… Where is the recommendation to do the anti-racism work ? Lost in the preservation of institutional comfort … comfort misinterpreted as safety/risk.

Exactly … Neutrality will always feel safer than standing in truth … I don’t feel confident that Creative Australia understands( or cares) that comfort and safety are not the same thing !!!!
