I’m behind enemy lines in corporate through work. Hopefully I have to sit my hands a few times.

Felt like we had difference makers from the bench despite the injuries which is huge. Doku is going to love playing with Semenyo, between those 2 and Foden/Cherki to track, he should get more space.

Did you listen to Spotify’s AI-powered podcast-style review as part of Wrapped last year? It felt very formulaic and one dimensional as you’d expect

I like it but I’m not convinced on Khusa as an RB, yes he can defend wide areas but feels like a big ask to do it at the Bernabeu.

Feels timely as I saw this article this morning: deadline.com/2025/02/vinc...

No exact mention of aliens but it’s sci-Fi and character-centric.

I’m a pod behind so only just listened to this. I’m aligned with Sam’s point around Cambiaso inverting (even starting there?). Having watched two whole 10 minute compilations, he looks capable.
January 21, 2025 at 8:55 AM
Whilst we are being told a midfielder is still on the cards, do you reckon they’ll take a risk on Cambiaso inverting to support Kova? Or even playing him alongside him outright?
January 18, 2025 at 11:24 AM
There’s a view that he has the profile to cover #6, but I simply don’t see us airdropping an 18yo into that midfield for the rest of the season. I’d love the signing but midfield cover is essential before EOM.

Do you think they’re both the right profile? I like the look of Marmoush but this is only his second season of 10+ goals. Ederson feels more of a ball carrier to.
January 3, 2025 at 11:49 AM
Agreed, the limited minutes Savinho got we looked far more threatening and he essentially created our goal. Wild that he came on so late when everyone could see the slide happening. I can’t get over funnelling your attacks through a bloke who hasn’t scored in a year either.

Granted I’ve only seen the highlights but their first goal began as a transition yet we had time reset/take shape once the ball goes out wide for the second time.

Squad rotation ahead of Juve? Feels counterproductive to weaken the team with the form we’re in but that’s all I can think of.

FWIW I thought we were fine for 70 mins yesterday and the fluidity in early second half was promising. Mental/defensive fragility is the concern.
November 27, 2024 at 8:16 AM
Whilst I agree we’ve problems at both end of the pitch, did last night show that even if we’d taken our chances at Brighton/Sporting/Spurs our defensive fragility is such that we’d have still have drawn/lost? Regardless of a lead and the subsequent game state our defensive issues are greater.
November 27, 2024 at 8:15 AM
I’d take that, ideally winning the game in 60m and being able to take off the most tired legs. The strong team is necessity to arrest the slide and build some confidence, nevermind just managing Anfield.
November 26, 2024 at 11:58 AM
Reckon we’ll see some significant changes that’ll carry into the Liverpool game? IIRC Pep put Alvarez out left in the midweek game ahead of Anfield last season.

LL Bean as a sleeve sponsor is some move too.

Hope being the key term in this. Is he wanting to see a response the players post-Int’l break? Regardless, it leaves the club in limbo for longer.
