I will dig this hole till you tell me it’s a hole.
Imma be real with ya, girl, I'm checked out. The energy isn't finding me. There's not much I feel a need to see. I'll see WICKED with the mum just cause of musical tradition, and RENTAL FAMILY cause of cultural investment, but... I'm tired.

BUGONIA was a miss for me. Gotta catch up to KEEPER when time affords. Otherwise, I can live without so much.

A refreshingly full week! DIE MY LOVE was an absolutely cracked, meandering delight. LITTLE AMELIE hit a very personal niche of my life - toddlerhood in Japan - and BADLANDS... was fine, but too often just The Predator & Grogu.

Catching up to FRANKENSTEIN in a few hours. Otherwise, this is usually when we start getting a blend of forgettable nonsense & very worthwhile indies popping up. Still leaning nonsense at the moment.

BLUE MOON's just painfully good, acerbically funny, quiet tragedy. CHAINSAW MAN balances the lunatic action & bittersweet yearning better than the anime it's continuing. Eager to see FRANKENSTEIN. Can ignore SPRINGSTEEN, SHELBY OAKS & Hoover.

Honey, I truly can't find the energy for any of these, sans what I've already seen.

October just feels exhausting. A lot of adrift things that aren't seizing my attention with any vitality. Good while I was away doing stuff in NY, but now I'm back, and it just looks miserable.

Bit delayed. In NYC this week, seeing Critical Role live - an unforgettable joy - attending NYCC & a few films at NYFF. Are there good films out this week? Yes. Are most of them old films? Yes.

Back to seeing things! Lotta things I hardcore do not care about at all out there, but some vitally good stuff out there, still. Can't catch LOST BUS, though. Evening shows are my bane, especially since NH public transit's getting gutted.

Had no time for new films this week, but oddly not such a bad thing. HIM and ABBBJ both don't look particularly necessary. I've rarely so needed a cinematic dry-spell. Still a few things worth seeing though.

My plan to catch THE LONG WALK was tanked my emotional fallout of real-life dystopia & me seeking sanctuary a gorgeous anime melee, seeing DEMON SLAYER 3-times-in-a-row. Hope to catch soon, but working a comic con this weekend, so we'll see.

I may catch up to SPLITSVILLE, but TWINLESS is just out of reach & scheduled too late - these late-showing tendencies are really infuriating. Did catch LEGEND OF HEI II and THREESOME, both of which I found charming & touching to some degree.

I didn't see JAWS. I'm sad cause of that. Will it last a week longer? Probably not. On top of that, no matinees of TOXIC AVENGER offered really driving me crazy this week. And for what? To get STITCH back for a week!

KPOP DEMON HUNTERS excluded cause it was just 2 days - but loved seeing it with crowds! Besides HONEY DON'T, bulk of my viewing was re-releases of very good films. Even spent a bit more time with SHIN GOJI.

Damn, I've seen a lot of crud. Much of it just fine at best, but some of it fairly nourishing & beautiful. Nothing more surging & invigorating than SHIN GODZILLA, but EAST OF WALL was really nice.

Sometimes the best thing out there is furry Mission: Impossible with hot buff cat lady villain. Sometimes I'm just tired cause Summer sucks, I miss work & having multiple films trying to sell AI bullshit is exhausting.

Haven't caught up to last week's crop of decent-looking pictures, but will do that tomorrow, energy affording. An odd relief to hear rock-solid appreciation of NAKED GUN without quite reaching immense praise. We need more genuinely solid.

Gonna see some comma cinema today with OH, HI! and SORRY, BABY. So there's interesting stuff out there, if you look. If you don't look, you're stuck with the exhaustive blockbuster programming.

Okay, it's... it's firmly the quiet, empty period of theatrical cinema. We got a legacy horror no one was excited for, yet another SMURFS reboot, and Ari Aster again, who at the best of times is a dour molasses filmmaker.

Found both the new SUPERMAN and JURASSIC movies to be solid entertainments. I think Gareth Edwards' romp is def gonna hold up better for me as a cinematic artefact, but I was touched by what Gunn put together.

Listen, if that's the formula for cinematic perfection, that's what it is.

Not so many new rich offerings, but the audience neglect & vaguely GREMLINS 2-esq energy coming off M3GAN 2.0 does make me want to catch it. That said, we're nearing a theatrical stranglehold of major studio movies. Scarcity is upon us.

28 YEARS LATER has only grown on me since seeing it. One of the most vibrant & creative studio films this year. I'm sadly gonna miss the messy french sapphic summer movie.

Post-work exhaustion & Pride festivities kept me from seeing much this week. 28 YEARS LATER's on the docket once I rewatch the first 2. Wanna catch BALLERINA if I can.
