I was very pleased with this song. I hope that by the time her next project drops, or she is able to remaster more of her old works, I will become even more fluent so that I can better understand her! (Eternal Blue please 🙏)

Speaking of which, the breakdown was also incredible. Having the piano fade out to leave her alone to tearfully cry out for an answer to her questions was very touching. I can only think of one other time where her music got to me in such a way on an initial listen.

Minami’s voice is as strong as ever. It is raw and breathy and wavers at times, which really cuts to the heart. I really like her singing in this version compared to the original. I think the way she controls her voice here makes the breakdown and subsequent key change much more powerful.

First, the instrumentals are quite different to what she has released in the past, using only a single piano to back up her singing, which took me by surprise. I think it works well with the underwater visuals to portray the sad and desperate struggle in the lyrics.
