The painting is titled "Miranda" by Thomas Francis Dicksee, created in 1895 in the Romanticism style. It may also be interpreted as a depiction of the Greek goddess Aphrodite. It's said it might also be inspired by Shakespeare's "Tempest"

Ethel Fanny Everett was an English painter and illustrator, specialising in children's book illustration. She was born in London and studied at the Royal Academy Schools from 1899 to 1904. Alongside May Morris and Mary Elizabeth Turner, Everett was one of the founding members of the Women's Guild of Arts.
