And what do I lose by believing them and what do I gain by doubting them.
Be skeptical about those who seek power over you, in all things.

An hour later the cops are attacking & detaining the small group of peaceful protesters who are outside the library, calling for this country to stop its descent into fascism. Online I see comments from people I know on local news pages calling for SWAT to run them over like it is Tiananmen Square.

Fundamentally, these fascists are cowards who wouldn't do this shit in front of a crowd. They are still here though, a festering sore on society.

The cops are right there, doing nothing.

I watch flag-waving Trump-worshipping counter-protesters in their trucks burning out on the rainbow crosswalk we used earlier to walk into the park for Pride. Most people have gone home by this point, so they are just shouting slurs out their windows into a mostly empty park.
