RIP to the man, the myth, the legend that was Ozzy Osbourne. Without you and your brothers in Black Sabbath, there is no heavy metal. For that reason alone, it makes you a legend. Coincidentally, we are preparing to discuss my personal favorite Sabbath record, “Paranoid”, on our next episode. I will definitely have more to say on the show. My undying gratitude, love, and appreciation goes out to you Ozzy. Thank you. My sincerest condolences go out to your family, friends, and fans.

It’s been awhile since I first made my introduction. The Bluesky community has grown since I joined. So, allow me this reintroduction: Our show is a father and son podcast where we are taking a journey into the worlds of rock, hard rock, and heavy metal. We also cover (or plan to cover) some film and video game scores. We also talk a bit of Motown, classic pop, jazz, and other surprises along the way. I love music and I truly believe that music is good for the soul. 1/4 Music heals. Music saves. Music can also be used as an interesting time capsule. It can provide a peek into the past and give us an impression of the times it was created in. I come from a family of musicians. While none of them achieved any modicum of fame, music was always a cornerstone for me growing up. My grandmother was a singer. Her younger brother was a drummer. My uncle was a guitar and keyboard player. I was a vocalist in a few hard rock/metal bands in the early 2000s. 2/4 My son, whom I do this show with, is in school choir. He and I have also been trying to learn to play the guitar together. I realize that it is now more important than ever to introduce our children to the music of the past and present. They aren’t being exposed to music the way that I was as a kid. Terrestrial radio isn’t really a thing anymore In today’s political environment, we must work hard to save the arts. We must ensure that the legacy of these great musicians isn’t lost. 3/4 We must do what we can to keep the scene alive for future generations to discover and enjoy. Music must remain to continue to inspire us. If you love music, even if the genres we are covering aren’t your cup of tea, please give us a follow. Let’s talk music. If you feel so inclined, give us a listen too and share it with your family and friends. Enjoy music my friends. 4/4

Revisiting Bullet For My Valentine’s “The Poison” by listening to the recently released 20th anniversary edition. I forgot what a damn good record this is! Been head banging, singing along, and stomping my feet the whole time. Damn good song writing! Hooky, catchy, and hard as hell.
