Had a wonderful week in Singapore. I’d like to thank Prof. Xing Yi Ling for organizing the AMI Conference. I’d also like to thank Prof. Hong Jin Fan and Prof. Jijian Xu for the kind invitation. I presented our group’s recent work on the chemomechanical degradation of aqueous batteries.

Last week, I had the pleasure of delivering an invited talk, titled "Mastering proton activities in aqueous batteries," at the Grotthuss 2025 Conference, organized by Linas Vilčiauskas and the team at the Center for Physical Sciences and Technology (FTMC) in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Glad to share that I have been appointed as Docent in Chemistry at Uppsala University. Docent is the highest academic degree for those qualified to supervise PhD students and take on higher-level teaching and research roles. The title is similar to “habilitation” in other European HE systems.

Attended the #ECS spring meeting in Montréal, Canada with a Battery Division young professional travel grant, presented Jackie's recent paper on high-throughput electrolyte screening (lnkd.in/dxeWcFrM), and took a selfie with the 2019 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry Prof. Stan Whittingham. What a week!

Today, I brought students and visitors from my course #1KB738 #RechargeableBatteries to visit #Altris AB. While my students have made their own battery cells in the lab, visiting a real battery production line is essential. The energy transition needs talent, and exposure is the first step.

I spent a day on the beautiful @uucampusgotland.bsky.social today, delivering a guest lecture on battery technologies to MSc students from the Wind Power Project Management program. The city Visby is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Will definitely be back and explore more!

Today, I received students pursuing their Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology (as part of the planned study visit from the InnoEnergy #SENSE program: Smart Electrical Networks and Systems), at Ångström Advanced Battery Centre, Uppsala University.

Early this month, I gave a lecture on Li-ion battery anode materials to the students in my course #1KB738 #RechargeableBatteries. I have attached the notes here with some of the most important points we discussed in the lecture. I will give another lecture on #interphases later this month.

My trip to Shanghai comes to an end. I visited Prof. Jiwei Ma from Tongji University and attended his student Jirong’s PhD defense on Na-based defective polyanion cathodes. I also visited Prof. Fei Wang from Fudan University and shared our research on aqueous batteries with the team. What a week!
