Why do installs still get stuckafter so many years of #Microsoft store?
September 27, 2025 at 5:22 PM
Now that #Microsoft has gone all-in in #AI, I hope they won't forget the human developer experience. LLMs just aren't there yet and it often feels like all agents can currently add to that, is the ability to mess up multiple files at once.

#Microsoft gets flak for usability often because they don't pay attention to detail. Example: #Teams introduced Ctrl+G, short for "go to" for example to a 1-1 chat. Nice! No need to mouse around like a boomer. BUT. Focus isn't on the message row automatically and you can't get there by pressing Tab.

This might be a stupid one, but I'll throw it out anyways:

So, if the #Microsoft #Graph #API allows you to download files as PDFs, are there any blocking reasons one couldn't use a #SharePoint document library as a "cloud PDF conversion service"? learn.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/...

Use this API to retrieve the contents of an item in a specific format.

So.. now that people add the word 'literally' to sentences where literal meaning should be obvious, should I now assume that every time they don't add 'literally', they shouldn't be taken literally?

I’ve been wondering why every @microsoft.com Electron app (like @vscode.dev and Outlook) feel so awkward to use. I finally realized that it’s the mouse pointer changing into a hyperlink-type hand when there’s something to click. It makes the experience a little restless IMO.

It's great that @visualstudio.bsky.social can use AI to generate commit messages.

But we also need an automatic Beautify button with a prompt like 'Please make it sound like I have single-handedly saved our business with this commit and I should be entitled to a raise'.

The results are awesome.

GitHub Copilot’s security is ass-backwards. Instead of blacklisting things via content exclusions, we should be able to whitelist folders.

I’ve found myself using vanilla Notepad more, because it starts up super quickly and the new features are useful. I know it’s still pretty basic and needs features, but AI isn’t one of them.. blogs.windows.com/windows-insi...

This is nice
I’ve started to collect .NET devs on 🦋. Starter pack is already packed with cool devs, but I suspect I’m missing a couple. Please share! And @ me if you know someone that is missing. #dotnet
