Exactly, the OS should already provide application level volume controls. So ofc everyone already has some kind of neat setup where they can easily change those without the app providing a GUI for it, especially on gnome, which is well known for utility over ~space-inefficient~ "pretty" design /s

Fairphone 5 has been serving me well, has gone for a swim too. Not the best for most people objectively. But I personally hugely value quick battery swap (carrying a full spare with me instead of a power bank), bootloader unlocking for custom ROMs, & EU based. FP6 dropped quick battery swap sadly.
