We're already there. I'm regularly closing search windows because the entire first page of results is clearly click-harvesting at best to ai slop at worst.

Bookmarks to known quantities are back in vogue.

Or THEY could cover the topic in their own voice with their perspective. This is Bluesky-- they can publish things too.

In fact, and I don't think I'm reaching here, I bet you'd repost them if their coverage was good and they asked politely.

This pattern is exhausting outside of just board games--

e.g. I don't want to eat Mexican, Chinese, or Ramen.

People that are unwilling to explore (or compromise) are just endlessly tedious for everyone around them.

... What?

I mean, seriously, what is his story here? Dave said, "Fine. If you're not going to respect my authority I'll just take my ball and go!"? And by "my ball" I mean "awards that don't belong to him.

I thought I was done searching this topic a year ago, but here I go again.

I don't know anything for sure, but I work with software for a living, and if *I* wanted to create a bot to sow confusion then "there's no hope; give up" is an easy message to create. For one thing it doesn't require acknowledging the specifics of the previous post.

Just saying.

Loading your daily, intimate details into a piece of software designed to capture everything and that is susceptible to prompt injection attacks...

What could go wrong?

Can't wait!

I'm lucky enough to have access to two different library systems. I put this on Hold at one, and suggested it for purchase at the other.

I cancelled. And now the price hike isn't making me want to jump back in.

But really, just... why? There wasn't one adult in the room that said, "Let's wait 30 days and announce the hike along with some new content."?

Turning all of these features off as they arrive is _exhausting_.

I'm actually jealous! Murderbot is a rare series that I wish I could read for the first time (again).

To this end I just ordered a laptop chosen specifically to run Linux from Day 1. There are lots of reasons, but one of the biggest is dodging these force fed "features" that I don't want.
