The Legislature authorized an agreement with The Altamont Program, Inc. to provide emergency and transitional shelter services at the Schuyler Inn, continuing Albany County’s investment in housing stability and supportive services for residents experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity.

At the December 22 legislative meeting, the Legislature re-adopted the 2026 County Budget and Appropriations, approved tax levies and assessments across cities, towns, and special districts, adopted equalization rates for the 2026 tax year, and updated the Albany County Legislative Rules of Order.

The Albany County Legislature proudly issued a proclamation honoring Paul Devane for his service and contributions to Albany County. This recognition reflects the Legislature’s commitment to celebrating individuals whose leadership and dedication strengthen our communities.

Following Monday’s legislative session, legislators gathered for a well-attended holiday celebration. The event highlighted collaboration across County government, with Dan McCoy and Susan Rizzo joining legislators and staff.
