Nier's character in Replicant is honestly interesting. He claims he wants to protect as many people as he can from the shades, but when the Arie is destroyed he just...doesn't seem to care about anyone besides Emil, Kaine and Weiss. It's like at that moment a mask slipped

it's kinda insane how boring Nier 1.1a is vs the game because it just removes 94% of all interpretations the viewer can have and the story goes from "any possibility could really be canon" to "THIS route is canon THIS happened FUCK you" and overall uhh Adam and Eve lowkey carry the whole thing
