It is difficult! People see one thing more expensive and latch onto that. People don't engage with the fact that their wages have gone up *more* than would normally be expected as well so they treat the only real change as prices going up.

I have yet to see a single category other than housing that is up relative to wages. Increases in consumption is people being able to do more than before! That's good! That still means more people are better off even if we could raise standards even higher.

I think there may have been a third criteria I had for some edge cases but those are the main two.

Oh that's another thing. The 1st amendment already doesn't apply to fraud/slander/etc. it shouldn't apply to any bad faith language period. The criteria for the speech to be illegal is that there was intent to deceive and that substantial harm to individuals groups or society as a whole could be
