When an "AI Expert" on LinkedIn regurgitates my advice years later about building legal tech products as if it's his own.

Ew.

But also, you could've gotten there faster if you had just listened in the first place.

Below meme same energy.

People: You must use AI! It is the way!

Same People: If you see [], that's a clear tell the person drafted whatever using AI!

So, basically, use it, but do so in a way that nobody can tell you've used it....

Has traveling by plane always been so miserable? Am I just getting old and grumpy? I feel as if it was a much more pleasant experience when I was younger.

Just saw a job post in my LinkedIn feed. They are looking for someone who "thrives in ambiguity."

Does anyone really thrive in ambiguity? Survive maybe, but thrive?

Folks wanna become AI experts without first learning data fundamentals. Don't start talking RAG if you can't explain the difference between mean and median.

Analytics/statistics are different disciplines, but to me, it's like working on your dissertation before you learn how to read. 🤪

Do you expect astronomers to argue with flat earthers? No? Have some goddamn self respect and start to believe that there are ridiculous legal arguments that have no merit and no energy should be wasted engaging with them.

It’s perfect. Here Sheryl was, “leaning in,” taking charge, being the front woman and explainer and COO for the terminally vacant, inarticulate, and people-repelling Zuck FOR YEARS, and rather than gratitude, he does this.

How low can you get? But a great cautionary career tale for powerful women.

When I was a kid, Jose Canseco signed a deal for $4m/year to play baseball and it seemed like an UNBELIEVABLE amount of money. I track legal tech funding for my job and ROSS Intelligence getting $8m in 2017 is like that. I would hardly notice a raise like that now. SO MUCH MONEY FLOWING. 😬

Husband gave me a Godiva chocolate bar (regular bar size) 2 days ago. Asked where the "rest of it" is today.

What?

Does he think I am a person who can set aside part of a chocolate bar for days????

I do a weekly AI zoom “Office Hours” call for Ontario Bar Association members (and others) and would love to have you on as a guest in January.

Please DM.

Just published a new blog post exploring “alignment faking” in AI, a phenomenon where models appear to follow new rules while preserving old behaviours.

For legal tech, this raises important questions about trust and reliability. How do we ensure our tools are genuinely aligned?
